In 1907 and 1921, the village suffered two major fires. Newly built houses were built as original wood. A preserved collection of log houses at the bottom of the village was declared a monument reservation in last preserved storey house in the village. The rare wooden storey houses were used by extended families, having as much as 30 members. It presents every life stage, customs, work activities, employment, livelihood, folk architecture and folk
